Bosch vs. Kitchen Aide mixer

This one has:
~800 watts
~4 speeds
~and can hold up to 8 loaves of bread dough

This one has:
~325 watts
~holds up to 6 quarts
~3 speeds

I still don't have either of these in my collection. With all the baking and cooking I do, its on my wishlist to say the least (without being a tinge of green with envy).

But its a great debate of mine: "Which one to buy?" "Which one would I be happiest with?"

My answer: either one I'd be tickled pink with.

On to another question, maybe you could help me with. "Which one has a longer life?" I know it depends on how much use, I would probably use it 1-3 times a week.

I would really like to purchase one of these this year. Its a hefty price, but then again, I would use it frequently. Any tips on where to buy either of these (in the biggest size) for a great deal?

Good luck with your decision! I don't bake enough to purchase either one :)

I am Kitchen Aid all the way! My mom is still using her mother's Kitchen Aid mixer that was purchased back in the 1950's. I have one, and shouldn't because I never use it. My Mom got it for me for a wedding gift.

I don't know much either...but I would probably get the kitchen aide for the same reasons as Heather. I guess price makes a difference too. But you probably would be happy, as you said, with either.

We're a kitchenaid family. my mom's been using hers for decades. all of my sisters have one. I just got my own this month and I love it. i used a 20% off bed bath and beyond coupon and saved a bundle. that was good because they don't ever go on sale. wow, i sound like an infomercial. Don't get me started on the magic bullet...

My mom has had her Bosch for over 20 years, and we still use it all the time.

But I would say the Kitchen Aide is more stylish—you can keep it out on the counter all the time. Don't have to hide it away, like you would the Bosch.

I'm no help.

I have a BOSCH and I keep it out on the counter all the time. It's great and should last FOREVER! Everyone I know that has one has never had a complaint and it's lasted for years and years with tons of use. There's a Bosch kitchen store in town and you can go to cooking classes there and see how it works. It comes with a great blender too that I now use all the time instead of my old one. I think the bosch is easier to put ingredients in and things won't fly out of it when you're mixing cause it has a great lid. If you want to know more, or come try it out, come over anytime.

My Mom is a doll and got me that same red KitchenAid a couple of years ago for Christmas...there was no way I was leaving it behind when we moved to New York...and I have no counter space! It has been fun and a lifesaver to have this winter. I'm sure you'd be happy with either purchase. The KitchenAid looks easier to clean :)

I have had both and personally I like my KitchenAid better. And I use it a ton!!

I have a kitchenAid, but I have wished several times that I had a Bosch for it's better bread making abilities. The KitchenAid is way cuter though. Both are great. And you will love either.

A few years ago my mom gave me her Bosch that she bought used over 20 years ago. It whips up wheat bread dough that I could never mix up by hand. It is a little big to pull out just for making cookies, but that is okay with me because I hate stuff on my counter anyways. I love it though and it works as well as it ever has, even though it is over 25 years old! Good luck with your decision and thanks so much for putting my button up on your blog!

Hands Down--Bosch all the way. My mom has it and loves it...so does my mil. They both use it several times a week for years and years without any service whatsoever PLUS it is so light!!!! I have a great kitchen-aide but it is so heavy and it's totally impractible when I need to move it. If I could go back in time I would register for a bosche instead of kitchen-aide.

BOSCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have both, and I would never go with the kitchen aid. The bosch is lighter and more powerful! The only thing I use the kitchenaid for is smaller recipes, the bosch has a harder time with that. But I got a Bosch for Christmas from my parents, and I LOVE IT!!!

I vote Kitchen Aide! Jason got me one for mother's day almost 4 years ago. It sat on the counter for 3 years and then I finally got up the nerve to use it and have been using it ever since. I don't know why it intimidated me for so long but now I use it practically every other day.

Gotta join in on the praises for Kitchen Aide! Love, Love, Love mine. There are so many attachments for it that can do SO many things. I use mine 4-5 times a week. They last forever!!!Kohls sometimes has sales on them. That's where I got mine about 4 years agon.

Well, I have a Kithen Aid and I like it just fine. Made two loaves of bread with it today. If only it could make my bread rise...then I'd REALLY love it. :-)

So! Sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you...I don't know what edition of the book I want. Probably the most recent edition? I guess? I probably need to do some more research on it before you order it for me...but I REALLY want it.

Now--your kids look so much like you I can't stand it! Holy cow!

hi gal :)

if i could go back in time, i'd for sure get the BOSCH, but i do love my pistachio kitchen aide...the bigger professional version has been for sale at costco lately and for a smokin' deal..definitely worth checking out. can't wait to see what you choose and make!

Bosch, no question. I use mine multiple times a day. I love the blender, I love the mixer with the different options (cookie paddles, beaters, dough hook). It really is an incredible machine.
