Girl's weekend & Bryanna's First day of Preschool

Usually all the kids and husbands come up to Swiss Days with us every Labor Day weekend, the guys go golfing, and the girls go shopping! It can't get any better than that. This year was a little different though. I wasn't planning on coming up this year because we are so busy doing things around our house, that it just didn't seem feasable.

My parents are in the Mission Presidency, a new calling they are learning lots about, but having so many spiritual experiences with. They have gone to 4 Zone Conferences already and had to fly up to Reno to attend some of them. This schedule is REALLY busy and doesn't give the freedom for a lot of weekend trips either. With that in mind, we were all trying to be OK with staying home this Labor day. But, my mom called me early Saturday morning, jsut getting into town the night before and she was ready to take a girls trip! So we jumped in the car and drove up to Midway, UT and hit the fair. I'm so glad I came up this year. I was fine with missing it, but luck popped in the nick of time!

It was rainy and got into the 40's, which I wasn't prepared for...I hadn't packed a sweatshirt and was wearing sandalls. But, it brought in the fall faster than ever! It was beautiful as the clouds hugged the mountain tops and swooped down into the valley, nothing like a Vegas rainstorm where the sky feels still a million miles away.

Swiss Days was full of creative and artsy people, who make the most amazing things, out of wood & dried flowers, leather & paper, metal & marbles, and lots of ribbons & bows. Getting to all the booths takes me two days, but with no kids, mom and I hit ALL the booths in the last four hours we had left before it closed. The only downer was I caught a nasty cold that is still lingering and leaving me dragging my feet around, and I was bit by a Brown Recluse on Friday, but didn't figure it out until the drive up. Years ago, my dad was bit by a Brown Recluse, and Necrosis (skin that dies and turns black) actually set in and he has a scar left from it. If it weren't for the girl trip and telling her all the signs and symptoms of this mysterious insect bite, I wouldn't have known what the heck bit me and wouldn't have figured out the steps to take care of it. Mom had some antibiotics on hand and it helped the "bull's eye" go down and now on the 4th day, its as small as a dime. You'd think I'd be more scared of such a nasty spider bite, but it was pretty minor comparitively and didn't hurt very much, luckily.

It was fun, but glad to be home with all the goodies I got up there! Bryanna starts Preschool today, I'm so excited for her! My little girl is getting so big!
