Canning...

The kids love it when Mark gets home from work. He gets down on their level and plays with them...and they just eat it up! He's such a good daddy! I forgot to mention that while I was up in Utah, Mark was a SUPER DADDY!! Planting shrubs and trees in the yard, making a casserole for Sunday dinner, taking the kids shopping for some new church shoes and Bryanna's dance shoes were just some of the things he did. When I walked in the door from our trip, the house was SPOTLESS!! He is amazing!

Here is the MOUND of peaches that I started with...

I had to boil ALL the peaches and tomatoes to get their skins off easier.

This was an ALL day procedure...

And my beautiful products: Peach Jam and Canned Tomatoes!! I'm so proud...this was my first canning experience ALL by myself!! I can't wait to reap all the hard work it took to make those pretty cans! Its fun to give something hand made from the heart too.

Hey cousin, I've been lurking on your blog enjoying all the Perry Fam happenings. Just had to give you a shout out for those gorgeous jars. You're pioneer ancestors would be proud!

Yum! I think Julie and I will get together and can some peaches and make peach jam! We get people up here all of the time selling the peaches from Brigham City for about $15 per box (big box). I already went through 1 whole box making peach cobbler and just eating the fresh ones. I am looking forward to going and diggin up some fresh potatoes... should be this week! Yippy!
