He-man Baby

Since I get the pleasure of having an ultrasound every week, the ultrasound girl and I are becoming very good friends! She did a 3D image this time and you can see all the good and bad. I hope you can figure out where the baby is....inside the middle circle, to the right. To the left, the white, half-moonish thing is the placenta. And the lower right, dark, half-moonish thing is the nasty monster in my womb. Yes, the thing that has been (and still is) giving me plenty to worry about with my little He-man. The doctor told me in all his profession that it was one of the top 10% largest bleeds he's seen. He did reassure me that all the pregnancies he's seen like mine, had a healthy baby in the end. (phew, right? I mean how dangerous can it be?) The danger of having that monstrous size of a blood clot is, if it invades the placenta, it would damage it (kill part of the placenta), therefore it would harm all the nourishment the baby needs to develop and grow, which in turn, could cause a miscarriage.

But I like to see the bright side of things, the baby is still growing and doing well *sigh*, and that there is yet no invasion of the nasty monster into the placenta. Let's hope and pray it will stay that way, or disappear altogether!

Like any worried mother, I do have my moments, fear of losing the baby, or a baby born with abnormalities, or an early delivery that would hospitalize He-man for a few months, etc. But on the whole, I have faith that it is all in the Lord's hands and that whatever be His will, I hope to be able to live with it in peace, knowing that His hand is in this pregnancy. Its all easier said than done though. All I know is that I can do my part by taking it easy, letting Mark do all the vacuuming (darn, I can't vacuum! he actually doesn't mind vacuuming:), lifting the heavy stuff (too bad he's not always there to lift my 32 lb Maddox in and out of his car seat), and staying off the treadmill and tennis court. But some good news, when the baby is significantly larger than the clot (give it another 4-6 weeks) and it all goes well, no invasion into the placenta, etc, I could very well be able to be active again. But I'm only crossing my fingers at this point, only time will tell.

Thank you for keeping little He-man and I in your prayers, I appreciate it more than you will ever know.

P.S.....I cleaned out the fridge last night. I know....baby steps, and my house will be in perfect order, only to start all over again! But I love opening the fridge to see it sparkling, neat and tidy.

Good luck! What a scary thing - I'm so glad you are keeping a good outlook. At the end of our trials, we look back and feel amazed that we made it through...but we always make it through! I love that the baby is called He-man!

I've never seen a clot that large before! I had spotting due to clots &/or cysts bursting with my last 3 pg's & I remember how scary it was. :( I'll keep you & your little HeMan in my prayers.

Love,
Shannon

P.S. I think it's a SheRah. :) Us girls tend to hang in there much more often when the going gets tough.

Wow, that is a huge bleed. But you know, it looks that way compared to HeMan and HeMan is only like the size of a nut so he will out grow it in no time. Thank goodness for ultrasound, right? What a precious little HeMan you have. Hang in there and take it easy! You can do it!!!! :-)
