st. patty's day

Happy St. Patty's day!! Today has been very fun! I played lots of tennis this morning in prep for a tough match tomorrow, always a good day in vegas for tennis! Then I came home and spontaneously, Bryanna and I made sugar cookes together while Maddox was napping. I usually like to plan and prepare for fun days like this in the kitchen, but it just kind of happened, and it was fun. I love it when I look at a recipe for all the ingredients, and I already have everything! Its a pain to pull out my recipe collection, find something to make and then be missing one ingredient. I am a planner, so you can see the inconvenience there!

I have SEVERAL different sugar cookie recipes, and usually my girlfriends all love and use their mother's recipes, its just the one they were used to growing up, but I like to try and find the best tasting one that also bakes well. Here is one of the best sugar cookie recipes I've come across in a while:

Cookies

1 c. butter

2 c. sugar

2 eggs

1 c. sour cream

1 tsp. flavor (vanilla, lemon, strawberry, today I used raspberry, and it was delicious!)

2 tsps. vanilla

2 tsps. baking soda

1 tsp. salt

6 1/2 c. flour

MIX TOGETHER WELL

Bake @ 425 for 7 minutes (will be white)

Frosting

1/2 c. shortening

1/2 c. butter

3 cups powdered sugar

2 Tbs. milk

1 tsp. flavor (vanilla, lemon, strawberry, raspberry, ect)

STIR WELL
