In Memory Of...

My grandpa Andersen passed away last night. It is an answer to a prayer, the last few months his health took a nose dive and his body shut down. He was suffering so much that it was merciful of the Lord to finally take his spirit. My dad is such a hero to me, in that, in the last year or so, he would drive up to St. George and do sessions at the Temple with him weekly, which was a small sacrifice to go up during the week when there was business and work to attend to. Then after his health really worsened, he would drive up to Cedar City where my Grandpa was being taken care of by my Aunt Terry, and my dad would help relieve her of night duty occasionally. Through all of this, I saw my father's fierce loyalty and devotion to his ailing dad, helping him in every way he saw possible. It made me realize that dad is this way in all aspects of his life, devoted to family and the Lord's church, he will come to your rescue, help anyone in need, in which I'm sure was passed on from his own parents.

Grandpa Andersen's funeral is this Saturday in Cedar City, UT and I will be traveling WITHOUT Mark, he is attending his best friend's wedding this Saturday in SLC. So, my plans for a low-key, take the kids to Chuck 'E' Cheese and let them play their little hearts out have changed to Road Trip!! I am gearing up the courage to take this short, but long trip, and will try to have a cheerful attitude!

Stacy- I'm so sorry to hear about your Grandpa's passing. If he is anything like your Dad, I'm sure he was a wonderful man and will be missed. I love your Dad and what nice words for you to say about him and the son he is. Best of luck with your drive up to UT and give your Dad and family my best wishes.

I am sorry. My grandpa passed along last year. It too was an answer to prayers, but no less heartbreaking.

Good luck on your road trip. I will pray for your kids to be perfect!

It sounds like he was a great man who leaves behind exceptional children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. I imagine he is pleased with that.
